The Vow wurden 1998 von Ralf Link und Holger Goetz gegründet. Bereits 1999 erschien ihr erstes Album  “Another World”. Im Jahr 2002 folgte dann ihr 2. Album “Trojan”, welches ein Konzeptalbum ist und ich übrigens auch sehr mag. J Wieder 3 Jahre später, also 2005, kam dieses Album Devil In Disguise.

Man sollte erwähnen, das auf Devil In Disguise erstmals richtige Drums zu hören sind. Denn seit 2005 ist Manfred Wirth nun bei The Vow, allerdings kannten sich die 3 Männer schon von einer früheren Band Namens “Blue Yonder”.

Nun will ich versuchen näher auf die Musik einzugehen.

Devil In Disguise fängt mit Gewitterklängen an zu leichten Keyboardsounds und verbreitet eine leicht düstere Stimmung, sobald sich die Gitarre dazu gesellt. Es geht um das weibliche teuflische Wesen, das mit engelhaftem Charme das männliche Wesen in ihren Bann zieht.

Talking Pictures dieser Song ist im mied Tempo gehalten, geprägt von schönen Keyboard und Gitarrensounds.

Hold On To Your Dreams zu beginn umschwirren Flötensounds mit leichter Begleitung der Drums, dann setzt eine rhythmische Accoustic Gitarre ein. Im Mittelteil des Songs ist auch ein kurzes schönes Soli einer E-Gitarre zu hören.

The Whole Mankind ist eine Aufforderung an uns Zusammenzuhalten für den Erhalt des Friedens, welches sie musikalisch gut umgesetzt haben mit einigen Tempowechseln innerhalb des Songs. Ich mag diesen Song sehr.

At The Seaside ist eine Erinnerung an die erste große Liebe, mit Accousticgitarre zu Keyboardteppiche und angenehmen Schlagzeug und ist ebenfalls ein eher ruhiges Stück.

The Girl With No Name hier klingt die Musik leicht Fremdländlich mit faszinierendem Rhythmus des Schlagzeugs. Die Begleitung der E-Gitarre hat einen Klang wie man ihn auch bei, ich glaube Porcupine Tree hören kann.

Paradise hier ist auffällig das dominierende Schlagzeug, welches einen ruhigen und doch bestimmten Rhythmus vorgibt, des Weiteren an manchen Stellen symphonischen Keyboardsounds.

Ich sollte an dieser Stelle auch mal den Gesang des Holger Goetz erwähnen, der mit seiner angenehm und doch kräftigen Stimme allen Songs das gewisse etwas verleiht.   Nun wieder zurück zu dem letzten Song.

Trojan add on ist für mich der absolute Favorit des Albums,  wurde in 8 einzelne Chapter unterteilt.  Bombastische Keyboardpassagen und viele Tempowechsel innerhalb des Songs. Ungefähr in der Mitte hört man im Hintergrund eine schöne weibliche Stimme, Melli ist der Name der Gastsängerin, laut Booklet. Im Schlussteil klingt der Song dann mit einer kurzen Passage mit ihrem schönen Gesang aus.

Während ihr 2. Album Trojan unter dem Label Musea erschien, ist Devil In Disquise eine Eigenproduction. Der Sound ist, wie ich finde sehr gut.

Ich werde bei der nächsten CD wieder und ohne zu zögern zugreifen.

The Vow where founded by Ralf Link and Holger Götz in the year 1998. In 1999 they have released their debut album “Another World”. In the year 2002 “Trojan” was released, which I also like very much. Again 3 years later the album “Devil In Disguise” saw the light of Day.

I should mention that on “Devil In Disguise” there are for the first time real drums, since Manfred Wirth has joined the Band, they have known each other from the former Band called “Blue Yonder”.

Now I will try to go further into their Music.

Devil In Disguise starts with thunder sounds, Keyboard and great guitars and the music spreads a kind of dark mute.  The song is about devilish women who try to take over the male with the charms of an angel. 

Hold On To Your Dreams you’ll get to hear flute sounds accompanied by drums, after a short while a rhythmic acoustic guitar starts. In the middle of the song you’ll get to hear a nice solo by an electric guitar.

The Whole Mankind is about that we all should stick together for the sake of peace.  In this song there are a lot of tempo changes and fits perfectly to the subject. I like this song very much, but I also like the other songs too.

At The Seaside is a remembrance of the first Love with acoustic guitars, keyboard and nice drumming, also in a calm tempo.

The Girl With No Name has a interesting rhythm, like it would come from a foreign country.  Anyhow the drumming sounds very good and the guitar tunes remind me a little bit of Porcupine Tree’s sound.   

Paradise has dominate and steady drums and also symphonic keyboards.

It’s about time now, that I mention the warm, but still strong voice of Holger Goetz. His voice gives the songs a special touch.

Trojan add on is my absolute favourite song of this album and was divided into 8 chapters. Here you get to hear bombastic keyboards and all kinds of tempo changes in this song. In the middle you will hear a female voice from the guest vocalist Melli. At the end of this song fades out with the singing by a beautiful part of her.  

“Another World” and “Trojan” where released by Musea. Devil In Disguise is a self produced album.

I enjoyed the music so much that for the next album I’m going to buy it without hesitations!

Ein wirklich schönes Album das die aus Polen stammende Band uns beschert hat. Überhaupt entwickelt sich Polen zu einer wahren Fundgrube für anspruchsvolle Musik. Der Sänger hat eine sehr angenehme Stimme und sein leichter Akzent stört auch nicht weiter. Die Songs sind ruhig gehalten. Neben schönen Gitarren und Keyboard gibt es auf zwei Tracks auch Flöte und beim letzten Track bedient Colin Bass (von Camel, glaube ich) den Bass.

A really nice album from this polish band. Actually there are very good band comming from Poland. The vocalist has a nice voice and his little accent isn't dissturbing. The Songs aren't heavy and besides Guitar and Keyboards you will get to hear Flute on two tracks. On the 9th Track Colin Bass (Camel, as I believe) is playing the Bass.

Es ist ein wirklich tolles Album was die aus Pforzheim stammende Band abgeliefert hat. Es ist schwer die Musik in eine Schublade zu packen, es sind Musikrichtungen aus dem Art Rock, Jazz und auch Ethnische Klänge auf dem Album. Gewidmet hat die Band dieses Album Marijan Andrijevic, dem Vocalist der Band, welcher beim Tsunami in Asien 2004 ums Leben gekommen ist. Daher sicherlich auch der Titel der CD "Lost Voice".

It's really a nice Album what the Band from Pforzheim / Germany have made and the music is not easy to categorize. There are influences of Art Rock, Jazz and also some folk sounds. They have dedicated this Album to their former vocalist Marijan Andrijevic, who passed away at the Tsunami in Asia 2004. For that they probable took the CD Title "Lost Voice".

Ein Mix aus Genesis und Yes, mit einer Prise Flower Kings. Der Sänger, welcher im Booklet nur als Gast genannt wird, hat eine frapierende Ähnlichkeit mit Peter Gabriel's Stimme. Ein wirklich gelungenes Debut Album.

Their music is a mix out of Genesis and Yes, with also a little Flower Kings. The vocalist, who is only mentioned as a guest, sounds just like Peter Gabriel's voice. This is really a good debut album.

Dead Soul Tribe - The Dead Word

Nach "A Murder Of Crows" und "The January Tree" ein weiteres Album von Dead Soul Tribe in meinem Besitz. Jesoch hätte ich auf "The Dead Word" auch gut und gerne verzichten können. Da bis auf 2 - 3 Songs mich dieses Album nicht sonderlich reizt, eher langweilt, da die Songs wie auf den anderen Alben klingen. Jetzt habe ich für eine lange Zeit erst einmal genug von Dead Soul Tribe.

After "A Murder Of Crows" and "The January Tree" I also bought "The Dead Word" from Dead Soul Tribe. But now that I have listened to it, I have to admit that I could have lived without it. Except for 2 - 3 Songs the album is rather boring. So for a long time I have enough of Dead Soul Tribe.

Orpheo - Echoes (Netherlands)

Hm, um genauer zu sein ist ihre Musik härterer syomphonischer Progressive Rock. Ganz leichte Vergleiche könnte man zu 'Shadow Gallery' ziehen, aber auch leichte Einflüsse von 'Pink Floyd' und 'Yes' sind vorhanden und um dem noch eins drauf zusetzten, von der Ghotic Ecke 'Nightwish'. Allerdings ist Wendelin Visser's Stimme nicht dem Opernfach zuzuordnen, sie hat eine warme tiefere Stimme und passt optimal zu den Songs und den Instrumenten. Die Songs haben zudem noch eine Spielzeit von 7 - 17 min.. Mich hat dieses Album total überzeugt, Klasse!

Well, to be precisely their music is Heavy Symphonic Progressive Rock. There are fragments of 'Shadow Gallery', 'Pink Floyd', 'Yes' and to Top it 'Nightwish' in their music. Allthough Wendelin Visser's Voice does'nt sound operatic, she has a deeper warm voice, wich fits perfectley to the songs and instruments. The Songs have a playingtime from 7 - 17 min.. To me this album is brilliant!

Violent Silence - Kinetic (Sweden)

Bemerkenswert ist das man bei dieser Band gleich 2 Keyboardspieler hat, jedoch keine Gitarre. Trotzdem ist der Sound sehr groovig, wofür sich die Bassläufe und Drums verantwortlich zeigen. Zu den Top 10 meiner Errungenschaften würde ich dieses Album allerdings nicht zählen, aber es gefällt.

Remarkable is that on this Band there are 2 Keyboardplayers, but you get to hear no Guitars. Still the Sound is very groovy, because of the good Basses and Drums. I would not put this Album on my favorite Top 10 List, but still I like their music.

Red Sand - Gentry (Canada)

Seit 'Mirror Of Inasanity' ist von der alten Besetzung nur der Gitarrist übrig geblieben, von ihm stammt wohl die Music, sowie der Text. Die CD 'Gentry'  besteht aus 4 Tracks mit einer Gesamtlaufzeit von 46 min. und die CD befindet sich in einem Minni LP Cover. Die Musik ist schon sehr stark an Marillion angelehnt, man könnte auch sagen ein Marillion Klon, mir gefällt das Album trotzdem. Die Benotung fällt wegen dem Mangel an eigenen Ideen allerdings schlechter aus!

Since the album 'Mirror Of Insanity' only the guitarplayer remained the same, so from him is the music and the Vocals. The CD 'Gentry' has got 4 Tracks and all together a playing time of 46 min. The CD comes in a small LP Cover. The Music itself sounds a lot like Marillion, I like it though, but still I give this album a minour note 'cause of the lack of own Ideas!

Mangrove - Facing The Sunset (Netherlands)

Auf 'Facing The Sunset' sind 4 Longtracks und ich halte es für bedeutend besser als ihr Vorgänger Album 'Touch Wood'. Als Thema hat man die Suche und den Kampf des Nobody nach den Gründen seiner Existenz gewählt und mit viel Mellotronklängen und tollen Gitarrensounds musikalisch verpackt. Für Leute die Vergleichbands brauchen, da würde ich wohl Genesis aus der Zeit mit Peter Gabriel und IQ erwähnen.

At 'Facing The Sunset' there are 4 Longtracks and I think this album is a lot better then their previous release 'Toch Wood'. The Songs are about Nobody and his struggle to find the reasons of his existence. The music has a lot Mellotron and great Guitarsounds. For People wich like Genesis with Peter Gabriel and IQ this should be the perfect album to buy.

Mimi's Magic Moment besteht aus 4 Tracks mit einer Gesammtlaufzeit von 62:40 min.. Hm, wie schon so oft, gerade wenn mir ein Album, oder eine Band sehr gut gefällt lese ich in so manchen Reviews eher negatives. Nichts desto trotz, mir gefällt das Album sehr gut und  es ist meiner Meinung nach besser als 'Be', welches die Herrschaften eher gelobt hatten. Obwohl mir 'Be' auch gefällt. ;-) Während es auf 'Be' wesentlich rockiger zugeht, die harten Gitarren in den Vordergrund  und Keys in den Hintergrund katapultiert wurden, ist 'Mimi's Magic Moment' ruhiger, die Keys und Violine sind im Vordergrund. Daher klingt die Musik symphonischer. Wer auf amerikanischen Prog steht, wie Spock's Beard, Kansas, Glass Hammer, sollte sich diese tolle Scheibe unbedingt kaufen!!!

Mimi's Magic Moment has got 4 Tracks and a playingtime of 62:40 min.. Hm, often when i like a album, or a band I read in other Reviews more negativ stuff about them. So it is with Salem Hill - Mimi's Magic Moment. Despite of these negative Reviews I like this album very much and I think this album is even better then 'Be'. On 'Be' the Songs are shorter and more rock influenced, there are more heavy guitars. On 'MMM' the Keyboards and Flute are dominant and it has a more symphonic sound to it. Everybody wich like the american style of Prog, like with Spock's Beard, Kansas and Glass Hammer should get this wonderful piece of music!!!

Viel Keyboard und Flöte prägen die Musik, auch die Gitarrensounds sind nicht zu verachten. Auf diesem Album hat man den Gesangspart reduziert und dafür lange Instrumentalpassagen eingebaut, was ich gut finde, da gerade der Gesang mir schon beim Vorgänger Album 'One For The Crow' nicht so sehr gefallen hat.

On this Album there is a lot Keyboard, Flute and nice Guitarsounds. There are long instrumental parts and the vocals have been reduced, wich I think is good since I'm not to fond of the voice from Margriet Boomsma. She also was the Vocalist on the previous album 'One For The Crow'.

Crystal Palace - Through The Years (Germany)

Ich bin auf Crystal Palace aufmerksam geworden durch eine Einladung mal ihre Webseite zu besuchen und mir einige Soundsamples anzuhören. Neugierig wie ich nun mal bin, bin ich dieser Einladung gefolgt. Danach habe ich mich auch um die Demo CD 'Through The Years' bemüht.

Nun habe ich diese Demo CD und was soll ich sagen, ich finde sie toll! Es ist wohl eine art 'Best Of' CD, die ihre Musik der letzten 10 Jahre wiedergibt. Die Musik hat schöne Keyboardsounds, die Gitarren sind auch toll und der Gesang ebenfalls. Stellenweise könnte man Vergleiche zu 'Saga' ziehen. Es ist mir unbegreiflich warum man die Band, aus Berlin stammend, noch nicht von einem Label unter Vertrag genommen wurden.

Songs welche mir gut gefallen sind: Puppet In Your Hand (5:40); Isle Of Passion (5:00) eine leicht poppige Nummer mit Ohrwurm Charakter; Standing In The Shadow (5:08); Psychedelic Sleep (5:35); Under The Red Sky (Ambience) (8:10); It's Hunting You (4:40) und Cry - feat. Roxy (9:00)

Nun meine Aufforderung an Euch, besucht Crystal Palace Webseite und überzeugt Euch selbst!!!

I stumbled over Crystal Palace after I received an invatation to visit their Website and listen to some Soundsamples through e-mail, wich I got from one of the Bandmembers. So I got curious and visited their Site. The Soundsamples impressed me that much that I had to get the Demo CD 'Through The Years'.

Now I call this Demo CD my own and what shell I say, I like the music on it very much. I think it's a sort of 'Best Of', wich reflects the music over the last 10 years of exciestence. You get to hear a lot of Keyboardsounds, nice Gitarrplaying and not to forget the god Vocals. What is unbelievable to me, is that no Recordlabel had signed them up yet.

Recommendable Songs are: Puppet In Your Hand (5:40); Isle Of Passion (5:00); Standing In The Shadow (5:08); Psychedelic Sleep (5:35); Under The Red Sky (Ambience) (8:10); It's Hunting You (4:40) und Cry - feat. Roxy (9:00)

Credo - Rhetoric (UK)

Elf  Jahre sind nun vergangen, seit ihrem Debüt Album 'Field Of Vision', welches ich übrigens auch besitzte. Während mir 'Field Of Vision' leider nicht so gefallen hat und mich ehrlich gesagt auch zögern ließ mir 'Rhetoric' zu kaufen, finde ich das aktuelle Album einfach KLASSE.

Beeinflusst wurde die Musik von Credo sehr stark von Marillion mit Fish, welches man bei den ersten beiden Tracks deutlich hört. Aber auch Ähnlichkeiten zu Arena kann man hören. Jedenfalls wie schon zuvor erwähnt ist 'Rhetoric' ein Top Album!

Eleven years has gone by since they had released their Debüt Album 'Field Of Vision', wich I Own by the way. Well, I didn't like 'Field Of Vision' that much and it took me a bit of thinking if I should buy 'Rhetoric', but now that I have The new Album I Think it's GREAT.

Credo's music is influenced a lot by Marillion with Fish, wich you can allready hear in the first two Tracks. Also influences of Arena are there. Anyway like I mentioned before 'Rhetoric' is a Top Album!

Sieges Even - The Art Of Navigating By The Stars (Germany)

Circa 8 Jahre ist es her als man zuletzt etwas von ihnen hörte. Damals war ihre Musik wohl eher dem Progressive Metal zuzuordnen, welche auch sehr komplex war. Nun zu ihrem aktuellem Album, die Musik ist sehr melodisch geworden und in manchen Passagen komplex. Sieges Even schaffen auch ohne Keyboard eine tolle Klangwelt, welche den Hörer verzaubert. Bereuen tue ich den Kauf des Albums überhaupt nicht, ganz im Gegenteil, ich möchte diese tolle Musik nicht mehr missen!

It took Sieges Even about 8 years to release this new album. Before their music was Progressive Metal and pretty komplex, as I believe. The new album 'The Art Of Navigating By The Stars' is very melodic and just in some passages komplex. Sieges Even created without Keyboards a very good sound. Anyhow I don't regret buying this album at all, it's the other way around, I don't wanna be without this wonderful peace of music!

Liquid Horizon - Urban Legends (Germany)

Als ich gelesen hatte das 'Liquid Horizon' als Vorgruppe von einem Vanden Plas Konzert spielen bin ich natürlich neugierig geworden und hatte mir sogleich Soundsamples von ihrer Webseite angehört. Schon bei diesen kurzen Stücken war mir klar, das ich mir die CD 'Urban Legends' kaufen würde. Nun habe ich sie und sie mir auch mehrmals angehört. Ihre Musik hat viel Power und ist sogleich auch sehr melodisch, welches sich auch Live sehr gut anhört. ;-) Am besten gefallen mir folgende Titel: Free World, Forever (leider sehr kurz), Urban Legends, Up And Away und ganz besonders Brave New World. Meine Empfehlung an euch, geht zur ihrer Seite und hört euch die Samples an, oder noch besser kauft euch die CD!

When I've read that 'Liquid Horizon' is gona be the Suport Act for a Vanden Plas Concert I got curious to find out more about them. So I went to their Website to listen to some Soundsamples and right from that moment I knew that I was gona buy the CD 'Urban Legends'. So know I have it and I've been listening to it a few times. The music is very Powerful and Melodic. Tracks wich I like mostly are: Free World, Forever (to bad the song is so short), Urban Legends, Up And Away and moust of all Brave New World. My recommandation to is to listen so their Soundsamples, or even better, to buy the CD!

Stream Of Passion ist ein Sideproject von Arjen Lucassen (Ayreon). Marcela Bovio, die Sängerin konnte man schon bei Ayreon - The Human Equation hören. Neben Progressive Metal sind auch Einflüsse aus Folk und Jazz zu hören. Die Special Edition, welche ich mir gekauft habe bietet ein erweitertes Artwork und eine Bonus DVD. Ein absolut tolles Werk!

Hört man die Musik von Riverside ist es nicht schwer zu erraten wer ihre Vorbilder sind. Denn man kann ihre Musik sehr leicht mit Porcupine Tree vergleichen. Trotzdem gefallen mir die 9 Tracks auf diesem Album gut.

In einem Review habe ich gelesen, das das Album beim ersten Durchlauf etwas sperrig sei. Nun, das finde ich nicht, mich hat es schon beim ersten hören umgehauen. Man findet auf diesem Album Elemente aus der klassischen Musik, welche eindrucksvoll mit Violine und Keyboard zur Geltung gebracht werden. Auch leichte Folkklänge sind zu hören. Ansonsten wird die Musik von viel Bombast und Tempowechsel beherrscht. Trotz den leichten Veränderungen haben sie, auf  The Dreams Of Man immer noch den typischen Pallassound und ist für mich, das bis jetzt beste Album von ihnen!

Just today I have read in a Review that this Album The Dreams Of Man probable needs a few spins before liking the music. Well, I don't agree at all, because I was blown away allready with the first spin. On this Album are a lot of influences from the classical music, wich are created with Violines and Keyboards, also you will find some fragments of Folk. The Sound also has a lot of Bombast and changes of Tempo (I hope you know what I mean). Still you will get to hear the typical Pallassound :-) and as for me, The Dreams Of Man is their best Album so far!

Place Vendome setzt sich aus Bandmitgliedern von Pink Cream 69, Günter Werno von Vanden Plas und Michael Kiske, ex Helloween zusammen. Musikalisch sind hier sanftere Klänge verwendet worden, als bei den Stammbands. Hier wird Melodic Rock geboten, wie auch z.B.auch von Journey! Jedenfalls gefällt mir die Musik die da aus meinen Boxen tönt. :-)

Tja, leider ist nur die Startseite deren Webpage in English gehalten, jedoch denke ich soviel verstanden zu haben, das die Stücke auf dieser CD bereits schon in den 80ziger Jahren entstanden sind. Ich muss auch zugeben, mir hat die CD nicht auf Anhieb gefallen. Nun, nach mehreren Hördurchgängen ist mir die Musik doch noch ans Herz gewachsen. Es wird hier symphonischer Prog Rock mit leichten Jazz Elementen geboten. Der Gesang ist in italienisch und wird von einer Sängerin dargeboten, es ist allerdings eine englische Übersetzung beigelegt worden, toll. :-) Die Titel bewegen sich bei einer Spielzeit von 3 - 7 min. und für die Epic - Liebhaber  gibt es einen Track von 26,17 min.!!!

To bad that only the main Webpage is in English, but I understood so much that the Titles where written in the 80ties. I'll have to admit that I didn't like the music from this CD at the beginning, but after a few spins the music grouw on me. The music is symphonic Prog Rock with Jazz elements in it. The Vocals are in italien by a female Vocalist and there is an english translation, great. :-) The tracks have a length between 3 - 7 min. and there is one track wich should apeal to the Epic - Lovers with a length of 26,17 min. !!!

Bei 'Interdead' handelt es sich um ein Konzeptalbum. Als Thema hat man das Internet und die Suchtgefahr gewählt und es musikalisch sehr gut umgesetzt. Gastmusiker werden im Booklet auch genannt, und zwar Sabina Godula, welche für den Hintergrundgesang zuständig ist, eine tolle Stimme hat und sehr gut mit dem Sänger Lukasz Galeziowski harmoniert. Als 2. Gastmusiker wird Aretha Chmiel genannt, welcher Alt Saxophone spielt. Dieses ist übrigens das 4. Studio Album und ich halte es für das beste, absolut Empfehlenswert!!!

'Interdead' is a Concept Album about the Internet and the addiction to it. The Music will apeal to fans of Arena, Pendragon and Collage. In the Booklet there are 2 Gastmusicians mentioned. 1. Sabina Godula, wich is doing the Backroundvocals and has a very good voice, wich fits perfectly with the Vocalist Lukasz Galeziowski. 2. Aretha Chmiel is playing the Alt Saxophone. Well, this is great music and it's allready the forth Studioalbum, wich I only can recommend!!!

Reviews wieder bei den Baby Blauen Seiten , obwohl ich deren Meinung nicht vertrete. Die Herren bewerten Neoprogressive Rock meist nur mittelmäßig, ich dagegen finde die Musik absolut KLASSE. Besonders gut gefällt mir das sie Celtic Folk und Flamenco Einflüsse in ihrer Musik eingebunden haben. Die Musik und der Text haben mich zutiefst berührt und ich fühlte regelrechte Gänsehautschauer.

Reviews zu dieser CD findet ihr den Baby Blauen Seiten . Nur soviel, das Album 'Time Beneath The Sky' gefällt mir etwas besser, da bei 'Surevival' leider der Symphonische Prog leider fast fehlt und man eher die Richtung eingeschlagen hat welche auch bei Porcupine Tree zu finden ist. Jedoch solltet ihr nun nicht denken das mir 'Surevival' nicht gefällt, denn ich mag die Musik die da geboten wird.

Overhead ihr 2. Album ist einfach Klasse, schöne Keybordpassagen und eindruckvolle Gitarrensolis. Auch der Gesang passt sehr gut zur Musik. Gefallen hat mir die ganze CD, trotzdem möchte ich den Titeltrack besonders hervorheben, welcher eine beachtliche Länge von 19:40 min. hat und in dem man Passagen aus Deep Purple's Child In Time eingebunden hat, Wau!!!

Overhead their second Album is simply just great, nice Keybordsounds and Gitaresolis. Also the Vocals fit perfectly in this music. I like the whole CD, stil I want to emphasize the titletrack, wich has a length of 19:40 min. and you will find passages of Deep Purple's Child In Time in it, Wau!!!

When I heard the first tunes of Mostly Autumn's new Album I was a little confused, because the Music wich came out of the Speakers is a little harder and has more Rockelements. Die CD befindet sich in einer Art LP Cover, welches auch Nachteile hat, wie z.B. bei der Entnahme der CD. Die Musik ist ein wenig anders als bei den zuvor erschienenen Alben, macht aber trotzdem Spaß der Musik zu lauschen. In einem Review das ich gelesen habe, hat man Vergleiche zu den Beatles, RPWL, Sylvan, Porcupine Tree und Tears for Fears gezogen. Auch Pendragon und Arena sind hinsichtlich des Gitarrenspiels genannt worden. Hm, ob dem nun so ist findet ihr am besten selbst heraus, ;-) mir jedenfalls gefällt das Album!

The CD comes in a LP Cover, wich has a bad Sideafect to me, like getting the CD save out of it. The Music is slightly different then on the other Albums, but still enjoyable. In a Review that I've read, the Music in some Passages was compared to the Beatles, RPWL, Sylvan, Porcupine Tree and Tears For Fears. And with the Gitarplay there was some comperesment made to Arena and Pendragon. Hm, if that is the case you should buy the Album and find out for yourself, ;-) I certainly do like it!

Auf diese Band bin ich durch die Bestforme Rockpage gestoßen. Arilyn machen tolle Rockmusik mit Progressive Rock Elementen und ist unter dem Label QuiXote-Music erschienen. Da mir die Musik recht gut gefällt kann ich auch hier den Kauf der CD empfehlen!

Die holländische newcomer Band Novact kreieren experimentellen progressiven heavy metalssound mit originellen Gesangsstrukturen. Dieses Album wird Fans von Threshold, Arena, Everon und Dream Theater gefallen. So steht es auf der Papphülle die die CD Hülle umgibt. Bis zu dem vergleich zu Arena, welche meiner Meinung nach nicht so heavy sind und man ihre Musik nicht als Progressiven Metal einstufen kann, sondern als Neoprogressive Rock, kann ich dem zustimmen.

Dutch newcomer Band Novact create experimental and progressive heavy metal, combined with an original vocal approach. A debut release that will satisfy fans of Threshold, Arena, Everon and Dream Theater. This sentences you can read on a Cardboardsleve. Up to the comparison to arena, since Arena's music isn't that heavy and the Style is more Neoprogressive Rock, I can agree on that.

Fehlkauf! Im Empire Heft hat man die Musik mit 'Cliffhanger' verglichen, da ja auch alle Musiker von Cliffhanger vertreten sind. Ich teile auch nicht die Meinung des Schreibers, das sich die Musik nicht verändert hätte, denn ich finde sie hat sich verschlechtert. Anhänger des Progressiven Rocks mit jazzigen Tönen wird es, so denke ich, wahrscheinlich gefallen.

This Album was not a good Investment. A Review writer from the 'Empire Magazine' compared it with 'Cliffhanger'. Well, the Musicians are the same as in 'Cliffhanger', but to me, the Music has changed. It sounds more jazzy.

Für mich eher ein Fehlkauf, die Musik hat zwar schöne Momente, hat aber auch für meinen Geschmack zuviel Jazz Rock. Die E-Gitarre steht im Vordergrund und zumindest am Anfang der CD bekommt man Mehrstimmigen Gesang geboten. Der einzigste Track, welcher mir gut gefallen hat, heißt 'Sysyphus' und hat etwa eine länge von über 14 min.

Das meiste der Musik hat mir recht gut gefallen, bis auf 'Greenwall und Velvet Desperados'. Das Booklet ist sehr schön gestaltet und bietet reichlich Informationen über die Musiker. Da 'Leviathan und Mad Crayon' in italienisch singen findet man im Booklet auch eine Überstzung in English, was ich persönlich toll finde. Desweiteren sollte ich noch erwähnen, das jede Band mehr als 20 min. zu hören ist.

The Musik is pretty good, except 'Greenwall and Velvet Desperados'. The Booklet serves a lot of Information about the Musicians and has a nice layout. 'Leviathan and Mad Crayon' Vocals are in the italien Language, but you will find an English translation in the Booklet, wich is great. By the way, every Band has more than 20 min. playing time.

Im großem und ganzem gefällt die Musik, bis auf einige Abstriche. Z.B. bei 'Deadwing stört mich das meist eintönige Schlagzeug. Auch 'Shallow' zählt nicht gerade zu meinen Favoritten. 'Lazarus' dagegen finde ich sehr schön, sehr melodisch. 'Halo' fällt da wieder deutlich ab. Der 5. Track, 'Arriving Somewhere but not here' ist wieder richtig schön, so auch 'Mellotron Scratch und 'Open Car' ist ebenfalls nicht uninteressant. 'Start Of Something Beautiful' und 'Glass Arm Shattering', beides ruhige u. melodische Stücke, gefallen mir. Da nun 3 Songs von 9 mir nicht so sehr zusagen nur die Note 3!

Mostly I think the Album is pretty good, except 'Deadwing, Shallow and Halo'! So, since there are 3 Songs out of 9, wich don't apeal to me that much, I'll will give the Album only the Note 3!

Klasse Musik, wie schon die anderen Alben zuvor und bekommt die Note: 1! Meine liebsten Tracks sind hier: Tantalos, Pargatory Road und Opera Fanatica. Obwohl ich die anderen Tracks nicht unbedingt weniger mag. ;-)

Great Musik, like all the other Albums bevor. Note 1! My Favorite Tracks are: Tantalos, Pargatory Road and Opera Fanatica. Surely I like the other Songs to. ;-)

1= Excellent; 2=good; 3=okay; 4=bad

Die Benotung der Alben drückt nur aus wie die Musik, die ich kaufe auf mich gewirkt hat. Ich möchte keinesfalls das können der Musiker kritisieren!!!

The Notes that I gave the Album is just a way of expressing how the music apealed to me. I certainly don't want to criticize the musicians ability!!!
