2001 wurde The Black Noodle Project von Jérémie Grima, welcher in einem Vorort von Paris geboren wurde, ins Leben gerufen und war zunächst ein Ein Mann Projekt. Jedoch gesellten sich schon wenige Monate später weitere Musiker hinzu und im Jahr 2002 erschien ihr Debüt Album *Dark Smiles* und das Label Musea übernahm den Vertrieb. Um den Drang sein eigenes Album aufnehmen zu können nach zu kommen, gründete Jérémie mit weiteren Partner ein eigenes Label B-Smile Records und unter diesem erschien Anfang 2005 dann das Album *And Live Goes On…*, welches ebenfalls in meinem Besitz ist und sich stark and Pink Floyd orientiert, allerdings ohne sie zu kopieren.

Jetzt (2006) ist ihr neuestes Werk erschienen, mit dem Titel Play Again.  Mit diesem Album sind personelle Veränderungen wahrnehmbar, und zwar wurde *Arnaud Rousset* durch den Drummer *Franck Girault* ersetzt und einen 2. Gitarristen (Sébastien Bourdeix) ist hinzugekommen.

Auch musikalisch sind leichte Veränderungen vernehmbar, so sind auf Play Again neben floydigen Einflüssen auch Porcupine Tree hörbar.

Introspection ist rein instrumental gehalten, wobei man hier den Einfluss von Porcupine Tree erstmals vernehmen kann. Dieser Track beginnt mit sphärischen Klängen erzeugt von Gitarre und Piano Klänge, dazu gesellen sich Schrammelgitarrensounds und treibender Rhythmus.

Floydig und vor allem eher ruhig ist Tomorrow Birds Will Sing, mit tollen Bassläufen und einem schönem Gitarrensolo.

Wave On A Soul ist ebenfalls eher ruhig und hier vernimmt man die Violine des Adrien Chevalier.

Not Yet bewegt sich im mittleren Tempobereich. Dieser Song gefällt mir sehr gut in seinem Aufbau und besonders das Duett von Jérémie Grima und Amélie Festa.

Sehr psychedelisch angehaucht ist The Great Nothern Hotel. Der Gesangspart ist recht eintönig, jedoch wird das von der Rhythmusfraktion gekonnt ausgeglichen, so das der Song nicht langweilig wirkt.

Für mich ist Room For Everyone ein absolutes Highlight. Dieser Song enthält Audio Extrakte von *The Great Dictator*, von Charles Chaplin. Besonders der textliche Inhalt berührt mich hier besonders.

Garden Of Delights ist, wie ich finde stark von Porcupine Tree beeinflusst.

To Pink From Blue, hier hört man ein tolles rhythmisches Schlagzeug und Bass, sowie faszinierende Gitarren- und Keyboardsounds zu mehrstimmigen Gesang. Ich schätze auch hier ist der Einfluss des Stachelschwein Baums hörbar und auch diesen Track mag ich besonders.

 Hier bestimmen die Gitarren, Piano und Saxophone den Sound und ist rein instrumental gehalten.

Gitarren, Piano zu dem sich in weiterem Verlauf Bass und Schlagzeug, sowie Schrammelgitarre und Gesanggesellt, bestimmen bei diesem Song 1(3Bute)2 das Geschehen. Entschuldigt mich bitte wenn ich hier Schrammelgitarre schreibe, aber es hört sich für mich so an.

Happy End ist ein schöner balladesker, floydiger Song, welcher noch einmal alle Register zieht. Gesanglich hört man hier noch einmal ein schönes Duett, auch baut sich im weiteren Verlauf zunehmend Spannung auf und Violine wett streitet mit der Gitarre.

Nun ist diese schöne CD leider schon zu Ende, jedoch spürt man die Versuchung aufkommen, Play it Again.

2001 The Black Noodle Project was founded by Jérémie Grima, who was born in the suburb of Paris and was at the beginning a one man project. After a few month other musicians joined the Band and in the year 2002 the debut album *Dark smiles* was released and the Label Musea managed the distribution for the French market.

Recording a first album became the very first motivation for Jérémie and so with the help from other Partners he created his own Label called B-Smile Records. Under this Label the album *And Live Goes On….* was released in 2005, which I also got in my collection and the music goes in the vein of Pink Floyd without copying them.   

Now (2006) their newest album was released with the title Play Again. With this album some personal changes took place, like *Arnaud Rousset* is being replaced by the drummer *Faranck Girault* and there is now a second guitarist (Sébastien Bourdeix). Also musically some changes is noticeable, Play Again is now influenced by Pink Floyd and Porcupine Tree.

Introspection is an instrumental song and an influence of Porcupine Tree is noticeable. The track starts with spherical sounds created by guitar and piano; later on the heavy guitar is joining to a more heavy rhythm.

In the vein of Pink Floyd and a calm song is Tomorrow Birds Will Sing, with great bass tunes and a nice guitar solo.

Wave On A Soul is also a calm song with the violin of Adrien Chevalier. 

Not Yet is a middle tempo song and I like the way it’s built up, especially the duet of Jérémie Grima and Amélie Festa.

In a very psychedelic style is The Great Northern Hotel. Here the vocal part is monotonous, but the Rhythm section is balancing it out very well, so the song doesn’t get boring. 

For me Room For Everyone is a absolutely great. This track has Audio extracts of *The Great Dictator* from Charles Chaplin. Especially the lyrics are very touching.

Garden Of Delights is strongly influenced by Porcupine Tree, in my opinion.

To Pink From Blue, here you’ll hear great rhythmic drums and basses, also very fascinating guitar- and keyboard sounds to harmonic vocals. I guess here is also the influence of Porcupine Tree noticeable and I do like this track very much.

 A tremendous good instrumental Track created by guitars, piano and saxophone.

Guitars, Piano followed by bass and drums, also later on heavy guitar and vocals are responsible for the sound at the song 1(3Bute)2.

Happy End is a nice ballades song in the vein of Pink Floyd. It starts with a duet; while the song builds up on tension you will hear violin and guitar, very nice.

To bad now the CD is finished, but there is the urge to Play it Again.
